From July 23 to 26, the 2026 Shanghai International Visual Image Industry Exhibition (P&I Shanghai 2026), alongside the 27th Shanghai International Photography Equipment and Digital Imaging Exhibition, was held at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center. As a specialized language service provider for the visual imaging sector, TalkingChina was invited to participate. At its booth, the TalkingChina team engaged in in-depth discussions with representatives from domestic and international imaging brands and industry professionals.
This annual gathering for photography enthusiasts, themed “Vision Without Boundaries, Imaging for the Future,” covered a total exhibition area of 50,000 square meters and brought together over 300 brands from home and abroad. The exhibits spanned the entire imaging industry chain—from core capture devices such as cameras, camcorders, and various lenses, to production gear like cinematic lighting and audio‑video equipment; from AI‑powered retouching software, smart studios, and VR filmmaking solutions, to physical outputs including framing, mounting, and custom photo albums—connecting the full workflow of shooting, production, output, and services.
A major highlight was the rise of Chinese domestic imaging brands, with many local optical, image transmission, lighting, and post‑production companies showcasing proprietary core technologies, achieving breakthroughs in lightweight design, image quality, and cost‑performance. Major brands including Fujifilm, Canon, Sony, Nikon, Lucky, and vivo presented their flagship products. Sirui Optical globally debuted its Saturn Series V2 full‑frame anamorphic lenses, featuring a rotatable optical structure for seamless switching between horizontal and vertical shooting. AI‑driven imaging technology was pervasive throughout the exhibition, with AI‑assisted composition, virtual shooting, digital human creation tools, and intelligent restoration systems making strong appearances. Baidu Cloud demonstrated its full‑link AI capabilities from capture to delivery, while domestic AI imaging brand Pixel Cake unveiled its latest proprietary innovations. The show also created six featured scenario zones, covering cultural tourism ecology, subculture co‑creation, and more. Concurrent forums, such as the “Digital Intelligence & Light & Shadow: Co‑creating Creations” AI Film & TV Development Forum, offered a comprehensive platform for industry exchange.
TalkingChina has deep roots in the film and television sector. Since first winning the bid in 2016, it has served as the official designated language service provider for the Shanghai International Film Festival and the Shanghai TV Festival for ten consecutive years. Furthermore, TalkingChina has been appointed as a unit member of the Translation Association of China’s Film & TV Dubbing Committee, accumulating substantial expertise in the new ecosystem of audiovisual translation that integrates technology and human artistry.
