On May 17, 2025, the first "Workshop on Film and Television Translation and International Communication Capability Renewal" officially opened at the National Multilingual Film and Television Translation Base (Shanghai) located in Shanghai International Media Port. Ms. Su Yang, General Manager of TalkingChina, was invited to participate in this event and discuss the cutting-edge trends of film and television translation and international communication with experts from all walks of life.

This two-day workshop is guided by the National Multilingual Film and Television Translation Base and the China Translation Association. It is jointly organized by the Film and Television Translation Production Center of the Central Radio and Television Station and the Film and Television Translation Committee of the China Translation Association. The workshop focuses on the construction of new quality productivity for film and television going global, aiming to explore the discourse system construction and innovative practices of international film and television communication in the new era, promote the high-quality "going global" of Chinese film and television content, and enhance the international influence of Chinese culture.

During the event, experts and scholars from central media, international organizations, and industry frontiers shared with more than 40 students multiple themed lectures, including "Fourteen Years of Practice and Reflection on Film and Television Goodwill Communication," "Cross Cultural Storytelling: Exploring the Narrative Path of Channels," "Creating the Best Efficiency of Film and Television Translation Human Machine Collaboration," "FAST Overseas Channel Construction Practice," "Key Factors in Film and Television Translation and International Communication Practice in the New Era," and "From 'Watching the Crowd' to 'Watching the Doorway' - International Communication Strategies for the CCTV Spring Festival Gala Special." The content combines theoretical height and practical depth.
In addition to sharing and exchange, the students also collectively visited the "Golden Box" of the State Key Laboratory of Ultra HD Video and Audio Production, Broadcasting and Presentation and the National Multilingual Film and Television Translation Base located in Shanghai International Media Port to learn about the relevant processes of AI enabled film and television translation.
